Not cranky, if you click image on the blog it links to a flickr account where the image’s HTML can be copied and posted on other blogs such as this one. No need to remove it, you can simply add a caption of where you got it from. The image is quite helpful, I encourage you to put it back up, just add a caption. No hate here

If you take a picture and edit it as you did above, please give credit to the original source. Also, be aware it’s a construction zone, speeds should be reduced here anyway for safety reasons, please do not pressure cyclists to speed up or to get out of the way.

Please sign the petition I started to Mark Z. asking him to change this and allow all fans of a Page to see that Page’s posts on their news feeds without the Page owner having to pay: http://tinyurl.com/FreeAllFBPagePosts. You have a crush on only one animated character? Dean in IG was cute. Even with 2 eyes.

For me, it’s a trend, not a theme. Captain Harlock, Date Masamune, and even Roy Mustang ended the last season of Fullmetal Alchemist with only one eye.

Oh! And I forgot Motochicka Chosokabe! Wow! How did that happen? (See above)

This letter is in response to the articles covering the Ohio 9th  Congressional election between Marcy Kaptur and Dennis Kucinich.

As a former strong supporter and campaign worker for Congressman Dennis Kucinich I must state why I am no longer supporting him and why I am supporting Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.

I worked on the 1994 Kucinich State Senate campaign against Anthony Sinagra and the 1996 Kucinich Congressional campaign against Martin Hoke. During those campaigns I came to know Dennis quite well. I had just completed a run for Cleveland City Council in Slavic Village and wanted to continue in politics. In fact, I still hold the record for most yard signs placed during a State Senate campaign.

What concerned me then and concerns me now is why Kucinich failed as mayor of Cleveland and still fails to succeed as a Congressman. The only common denominator is his lack of people skills. He does not now (nor did he then)  have the critical ability to communicate properly with constituents, fellow  lawmakers and the media in general. Some politicians are able to “re-make” themselves. Sadly, Kucinich has chosen not to and look what this has  resulted in for the previous 10th Congressional District.

On the other hand, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur reminds me of the type of congressperson we desperately need during these troubling economic times.  She truly cares about her constituents. From the moment you meet her you can’t help but be struck by her well-honed people skills.

She has  utilized these skills very effectively and look at the difference it has made in Toledo and the surrounding area. On Tuesday, March 6, please  support Marcy Kaptur for Congress and help give the new 9th Congressional  district a start on the right track.

Maybe there needs to be a Wikipedia entry about this.

But seriously, maybe Wikipedia needs a transparent appeal process for things like this. Otherwise they’re just being silly.

Yeah, I don’t use Wikipedia as a serious source, I use it to amuse myself. If I need to do real research I use the free parts of online holdings or the LA public library. It’s shocking how much information an LAPL card will get you, on and off line. Also the US government has huge holdings that are free and more reliable than Wikipedia.

But if I just want to skim along the surface of something, Wikipedia is fine for that.

I use wikipedia a lot. A lot. I like wikipedia…but as a starting point. And I was never swayed by their pleas for donations because of grumblings I’d heard, but not stated as succinctly as this: “Wikipedia is not ‘truth,’ Wikipedia is ‘verifiability’ of reliable sources. Hence, if most secondary sources which are taken as reliable happen to repeat a flawed account or description of something, Wikipedia will echo that.”

Did you pony up the $7 to delete yourself from the “high” risk data miners? It was very simple to delete myself from the low and medium risk firms — they all sent confirmation emails — but I think I’ll spend the change to eliminate myself (¡!) from the high risk firms. …thanks for this!
