“Memo from Turner”

Filed under: delighted, impressed, visual pleasure — Ginger Mayerson @ 7:37 pm

I think I saw “Performance” when I was too young. I had this soundtrack (on vinyl, yet) and the whole thing is stunning.

I didn’t know this studio version existed.

I like the film version better, it’s grimmer.

God, I love YouTube, Post-Literacy or no.

Update 092507: a better studio version, but still no slide guitar, compliments of W. Kiernan in the comments, thanks!

  1. I agree with you 100%. I had the original Performance sound track LP, but sold it for $10 when in college for gas.

  2. I got a copy of this film as a present, but haven’t managed to watch it yet. I’m going to have to crack it open soon.

  3. On Jagger’s best of solo CD coming out shortly, he has yet another version of “Memo from Tuner.”

  4. Thanks for showing me this! v.3. is hot too (nice backing organ and drums, maybe Winwood and Capaldi?)
